Kelsey is a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with an MSc from Goldsmiths University of London. Her own life struggles and challenges led her to therapy herself where she soon realised her heart was calling her on a new journey. Therefore, after spending almost a decade as a secondary school teacher in the United States, she decided to take the big leap across the pond and start a new career in mental health. In addition to her formal training as a CBT therapist, Kelsey's practice is also influenced by her experiences in education and as a certified yoga instructor. She currently works as the Clinical Director of the charity the Power to Live Foundation which specialises in behavioural therapy, as a lecturer and supervisor on the MSc CBT program at Goldsmiths University of London and in private practice. When she's not teaching, supervising or working with clients, Kelsey enjoys being outside, reading, exercising, doing yoga and pilates and most importantly spending time with her family.
No interesting, full life is easy. When we are called to live wholeheartedly and move towards values despite the fear, therapy can provide much need support and encouragement.
Life is hard and full of unsuspected challenges. Often the more we journey toward where we want to go, the bumpier the road gets. The impact of past experiences, present stressors, and worries about the future threaten to keep us stuck in an unhelpful loop. We repeat old, conditioned patterns and behaviours simply because we're on autopilot and maybe haven't had the space to reflect. By increasing our awareness, bringing our attention to the present, detaching from old stories, and focusing on what's helpful we make meaningful choices.
As a third-wave CBT therapist, my goal is to support your journey toward what matters, even if you have to carry the worries and fears with you. By helping you increase awareness, contact with the here and now, and self-compassion we embrace change wholeheartedly. My approach is active, experiential, and focused on your specific goals.
No one needs to struggle alone. Let's build a better present by accepting what was so we can commit to where we want to be. If this sounds like the support you are looking for, please reach out. Be well!
